Marin Horizon Spring Festival Fundraiser 2023 FAQ’s
What is the Marin Horizon Spring Fundraiser?
The Marin Horizon Spring Fundraiser is a community-building event that brings together Marin Horizon parents/caregivers, faculty and staff to celebrate and benefit our teachers, faculty and staff and raise funds for strategic initiatives. This year’s theme is Spring! and coincides with Earth Day. The Spring Festival is a two-day event that will include a Farm-to-Table dinner for our adult community on Friday April 21st from 6pm-10pm at the Sausalito Portuguese Cultural Center (511 Caledonia St, Sausalito, CA 94965), and a Festival and Art Walk for the entire family - and friends and neighbors - on Saturday April 22nd from 11am - 2pm on Campus.
What does the Marin Horizon Spring Fundraiser support?
Proceeds from this year’s Fundraiser will support special initiatives, our teachers, faculty and staff, and ongoing school programs. Family Sponsorships offset the costs of the events, so that all funds raised during the Dinner and Festival / Art Walk events will go directly to supporting the school and teachers!
What is the difference between the Horizon Fund and the Spring Fundraiser?
As with all independent schools, Marin Horizon relies on philanthropic support to balance its budget and support the people and programs that make our school so special. The Horizon Fund allows Marin Horizon to be flexible and responsive to yearly budgeting needs, and supports teacher salaries and benefits, professional development, classroom and program expenses, tuition assistance, outdoor education, technology, athletics, and the arts. The Spring Fundraiser is an opportunity to socialize and build community while also raising funds for school programs, staffing and other initiatives.
What is the schedule of events?
Friday, April 21st, 6pm - 10pm is an adults-only Farm-to-Table dinner with passed hor’dourves, an elegant buffet, open bar, and dancing. This will be your first opportunity to bid on amazing silent auction items and sign-up for teacher and parent-led parties, including the ever-popular Ribs & Oysters at the Beach, an epic Capture-the-Flag game led by Joel, an end of year bonfire party, and SO many others. We take our parties seriously here at Marin Horizon, so look forward to great food, fun time with friends (both old & new), and dancing into the night.
Saturday, April 22nd, 11am-2pm is the Spring Festival & Art Walk. Bring the whole family to play carnival & lawn games, listen to great music with a burger in hand, and even try your hand at the dunk tank. Saturday’s even also includes the Art Walk and an opportunity to view and purchase an amazing original piece created by your child. We can’t wait to bring all members of our community together to play, connect and raise funds for the MHS.
Is there a cost to attend? How do I get tickets?
Friday’s Farm-to-Table Dinner tickets are $185 per person.
Saturday’s Spring Festival and Art Walk requires a Festival Pass which is $15/person.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
We want to do our best planning for maximum fun and it would help us greatly if you purchased all your tickets now! Friday’s Farm-to-Table Dinner tickets must be purchased online in advance. We will have festival passes at the door for Saturday’s event.
How can I help teachers & staff attend?
By providing a Family Sponsorship. There are a variety of sponsorship opportunities that include sponsorship of faculty and staff to attend as well as underwriting. As ticket prices do not cover the entire cost of the event, sponsorships are needed to enable Marin Horizon faculty and staff to attend free of charge. Click “Order Tickets” to see package options and details.
*Discounted tickets are available for families receiving tuition assistance.
